Can you believe we are already close to October! This year has partially gone fast for StyleBy, we have achieved so much and have enjoyed every step of the way! As you probably all know by now, Autumn/Winter really are my favourite seasons! Once those leaves on the trees start changing colour and the kids are back at school, Autumn I feel really comes into its own. I actually think September feels like a new year is beginning.. don't ask me why! Now is the time for newness to hit the highstreet! Summer sale has officially ended (Thank god! I can't stand the mess that comes with sales!)
THINK PINK
There are many trends to look out for this AW22, think long dresses, leather, cord and lots of colour. I am still obsessed with the Valentino campaign highlighting everything neon pink! And I love how the High Street has tapped into this, stores such as COS, Zara and John Lewis have really taken to this trend. I may have just purchased the neon pink cashmere jumper from John Lewis. I read an article the other day which said 'Mood boosting pink' and I can't think of anything more apt!
RELAX INTO SUITING
Suiting also packs a punch for AW22, many brands have launched their version of the Andrognous
suit, with a more relaxed vibe than the super sharp and polished look. Last week I saw the most amazing pink cord suit in COS.
Brands such as Reiss, Zara, Massimo Dutti and Jigsaw all give the nod to the suit.Worn together for a slick office look or worn as separates, a matching suit really is a key investment to any wardrobe. Wear the blazer with denim for an off duty look, or wear the trousers with a tonal knit. Your possibilities will be endless. A suit of the same colour will help elongate the body. Worn together it will look polished, worn separately, you will gain multiple outfit options. Wear trainers for a relaxed vibe or with killer heels and an oversized clutch for an evening look.
LEATHER
What I am loving about the leather trend is that it is so much more than just the jacket, think, shirts, skirts and dresses! Whistles has the most amazing leather dress! What I am loving about the trends for AW22 is that they are nothing new, but it's really about how you wear them. Think cashmere. Cashmere is always a big hit for Autumn, but this year it's taken more of an oversized vibe which I personally love. Wear with leather leggings and a white trainer, or french tucked into a pair of boyfriend jeans.
This season really is about how you wear things and since the cost of living is dominating the press at the moment and I am sure many people are feeling the pinch, it's great to see what pieces you already have in your wardrobe, together with thinking about what pieces you want to invest in when shopping. This is where Kate and I can help you! I am a firm believer in investing in key pieces for your wardrobe, Jeans, Blazers, White Tee's, Knitwear.
THE AFFORDABLE DRESS
We're all aware that the cost of living is increasing so now is more a time than ever to look for not only clothes that will work in your wardrobe but affordable ones at that! Supermarket fashion is taking the fashion industry by storm at the moment, great for when you are in a rush and trying to do the food shop with bored kids in toe! Sainsbury's especially has some great pieces such as their midi dresses (pictured.) Team with a white trainer for casual day chic or really vamp them up with a biker book for the colder months with a leather jacket or chunky knit. We love a statement statement lip and accessories with Kate's favourite; a hoop earring!
THE FLIGHT JACKET.
I love a flight jacket for a variety of reasons. Firstly you can find them anywhere; whether it be in a second hand store, or there's a sequinned one hung on a mannequin in a Chelsea boutique, they are proving to be the jacket that never goes out of style. Kate loves her vintage one that she wears as her second skin for the cold morning school runs. They look fab over athleisure wear or hung over a shoulder whilst you're strutting your stuff in a sexy LBD.
MEN
Mens fashion for AW22 is also a favourite of mine, Kate and I have many male clients. More recently I have had male clients who are going back to the office properly now for the first time since Covid. The office dress code has changed dramatically, less suiting more smart casual. Think dark denim with a relaxed Ralph Lauren shirt and again similar to womenswear cord trousers have proven very popular with my male clients recently.
Come on Autumn/Winter we are ready for you!
