Makeup has always been a obsession of mine for as long as I can remember! Its never needed to be altered, shortened, ‘taking up’ and I can wear it straight away! I have many a memory of visiting a John Lewis beauty hall with my Mum and being mesmerised by all the beauty counters, the lights, the smell, the music I just loved it all!
Working long hours as a Stylist and often socialising after work with friends I need my foundation to be durable and long wearing. However, I never like my foundation to look ‘cakey’ it still needs to look fresh when I am on my. last personal shop of the day.
Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation SPF 20
Clinique will always have a special place in my heart. My first beauty purchase at age of 15 was a Clinque Mascara and its since been a brand that brings back so many memories, I actually think one of my first perfumes was ‘Clinque Happy’ it always takes me back to my childhood whenever I smell it!
Their latest launch is their new clinical serum foundation, launched in March this year. With 42 different shades, again there is a shade for everybody. This foundation has a satin matte finish and is very much a medium to full coverage and promises to have 24 hour wear! This foundation also includes hyaluronic acid and has a SPF of 20. I would recommend this foundation for people who have combination to oily skin. What is great about this foundation is that it is fragrance free and also waterproof!

Nars
I always skip to Nars when I want a Laguna bronzer (one is sold every minute.) However, I was intrigued to try their stick foundation, sadly since we did this review this foundation has been discontinued! How annoying! However, I feel that stick foundations would be great for people on the go, that early morning school run or when you have finished at the gym become heading to the office.
Many of the leading beauty houses have their own version of a stick foundation including, MAC, YSL, Tom Ford and Bobbi Brown, if you are short on time and want a no fuss foundation I would recommend a stick foundation.

MAC
MAC is definitely a makeup brand that I recommend to all my friends. I remember going into MAC in my teens and spending HOURS trawling through all the different lipsticks, did I want satin, creme-sheen, amplified, matte et al, it always came down to a cremesheen in a Nude shade. I couldn't tell you hour many MAC nude lipsticks I have in my makeup collection. Its actually quite embarrassing.
Similar to their lipsticks MACs foundation offering is up there too. With something for everyone and their shade collection is second to none, not only to they have a range of shades their finishes also come in various versions. Full, Medium and Light coverage.
MAC Next To Nothing Face Colour, Medium/ Compact
Out of all the foundations that I tried and tested in this post, this ‘foundation’ was the one I was most surprised about. Firstly I don't think I would call it a foundation! I personally would actually use it under a foundation, if that makes sense?! For an added glow/primer! It really does live up to its name ‘Next to nothing’ so if you were having a ‘no makeup makeup day’ this would be ideal. At just £28 this is a purse friendly foundation, unlike many of the other MAC foundations on the market ‘Next to Nothing’ only come in 6 different shades, so many people may struggle to find the perfect match, saying that though, because the formula is so light, I think you'll be ok! Being such a light finishing foundation, for added coverage I would recommend the MAC ‘Next to Nothing’ compact powder, this would help combat a shiny T-zone. The ‘Next to Nothing’ pressed powder compact is great for people on the go, a nice and neat compact ideal for keeping in your handbag or on your desk at work. Ideal for touch ups throughout the day.

MAC Mineralize Moisture Fluid SPF15 Foundation
Having an SPF in a foundation is really important to me, it also saves time in the morning if a foundation contains it rather than having to add it as part of your skincare rountine.
This foundation is a milky in texture and really easy to apply and blends effortlessly. I feel it would suit normal to dry skin types and would best be applied using either a beauty blender or the Bobbi Brown full coverage face brush. As with all MAC foundation this one comes in a variety of shades. What was great about this foundation was that it had a combination of powders within it which created a ‘blurring’ effect on my face, it was great around my fine lines around my eyes!
TOM FORD FOUNDATION
A friend of mine introduced me to this foundation at the end of last year, however, having caught Covid in December, December and January were pretty much written off for me,when the world began to turn back to normal I grabbed with bottle out of my makeup stash and it has been love ever since.
Even before applying the the foundation the bottle screams luxury and I am such a sucker for packaging! (Such a marketers dream!)
Being a medium to full coverage foundation which also contains Hyaluronic Acid together with an SPF 50, the hyaluronic acid helps moisturise the skin and leaves it looking plump with a dewy finish!
With 40 shades available there will be a shade for everybody. I wear Cool Almond.
The Tom Ford counter are great with offering samples, so I would definitely suggest this before purchasing a bottle. I apply foundation with a foundation brush, however a beauty sponge would work equally as well. Just never use your fingers!
This really is my new current favourite.
